Forget-Me-Not is a lot of things. It can be an echo, or a reverb unit. It can sound gorgeous, or incredibly broken. It can make you remember, or cause you to forget everything.We based Forget-Me-Not on a rare piece of rack gear that simulated reverberationby using a tapped delay line. This approach has really fallen out of favor in the modern era, replaced by more sophisticated algorithms using all-pass filters for lots of diffusion. We find the old-school method applied here to be unique and charming, and we hope you agree.Forget-Me-Not lives with one foot in the world of reverb, and the other squarely in the world of delay. The Super Neo-Matic has two modulation modes (Triangle and Random) and two sound modes (Vintage and Modern).In Triangle mode, time delay is controlled by a wide-range triangle wave oscillator for traditional chorus, vibrato and flanger sounds.Random mode controls the delay matrix with a randomly changing voltage so that the signal changes unpredictably between different sounds. Both modulation types are available in two sound variations: Vintage uses the same 8-bit sampling as the original, while Modern uses a full 24-bit audio path. The difference in bitrate becomes more obvious when playing softly. All sound modes also allow you to "park" the modulation and use the pedal as audio delay. Control the delay with an expression pedal or the ramp footswitch for extreme time distortion!Once you have selected your preferred sound settings, you can save them in one of the four preset locations on the Super Neo-Matic. Most stereo wideners fake it. They shift phase, add delays, or manipulate frequency bands in ways that fall apart on headphones, in mono, or at the mastering stage. Velvet Noise takes a different approach, grounded in acoustic research into how the human brain actually perceives space.At its core is a technique called velvet-noise decorrelation. Rather than treating the left and right channels as a single image to stretch, it makes the two channels genuinely less similar to each other in a way that mirrors how real acoustic spaces naturally scatter sound.
