Forget-Me-Not is a lot of things. It can be an echo, or a reverb unit. It can sound gorgeous, or incredibly broken. It can make you remember, or cause you to forget everything.We based Forget-Me-Not on a rare piece of rack gear that simulated reverberationby using a tapped delay line. This approach has really fallen out of favor in the modern era, replaced by more sophisticated algorithms using all-pass filters for lots of diffusion. We find the old-school method applied here to be unique and charming, and we hope you agree.Forget-Me-Not lives with one foot in the world of reverb, and the other squarely in the world of delay. It blurs a lot of lines, and can do either or both at once depending on how you use it. “1” is a Distortion/Reverb Pedal designed to provide the sought after “BROWN” Guitar Sound of the late 70’S early 80’S, when played through a clean Amplifier Like that legendary tone, this pedal produces intense drive while retaining high definition. The pedal also includes a built-in reverb circuit to add ambiance and depth to your sound. “1”’s gain ranges from medium to very heavy distortion. The amount can be easily controlled via the volume control on your guitar. (Input impedance is set to facilitate this, and is somewhat negated if a buffer or buffered effect is used ahead of “1”.) The Brown knob controls the amount and harmonic overtones of the distortion. Getting the exact tonal quality is the key to this legendary sound and “1”’s Brown and Presence controls help it appropriately interface with a wide variety of pickups and amplifiers.“1”’s built in Reverb circuit with a Level control for setting the ambiance. Silver Spring Reverb (SSR) is a compact, easy to use digital/analog reverb with a pure analog direct signal path. It creates a natural sounding ambient reverb that will not get in the way of your original signal. Description:The Silver Spring Reverb’s bandwidth is in between the dark warmth of an amplifier’s spring reverb and the pristine clarity of a studio reverb.There is no noise reduction system, in order to keep the decay as natural as possible.The direct signal path is all analog, going straight through analog amplifiers with no filtering.With the input set below the maximum, there is no signal distortion or colorationThe Reverb signal path is filtered to produce the Silver Spring Reverb’s natural ambiance.The SSR’s sound is exceptional with a clean signal but was specifically designed to work equally well with the tougher performance requirements of distorted tone. The SSR can be used before distortion, although it was primarily designed to go after. If you use the SSR before distortion, you may want to use a lower Reverb (Wet/Dry) setting.Control options:TIME: This sets the decay time of reverb. Turn it clockwise for longer decay. At the full counterclockwise position, the decay is that of a small room. At the full clockwise position, the decay resembles the large hall sound of a plate reverb. Around the center setting the medium decay time is optimal for rhythmic chords and single notes.TONE: This adjusts the bandwidth of the reverb signal. Turning clockwise results in a brighter reverb tone and counter-clockwise darker one. This is a digital reverb mini-pedal, simple to use, but giving a whole selection of unique – and very useful – new sounds. It’s based around an FV-1 chip, and comes with an Igor expression pad for real-time control. ‘Size’ adjusts the length of the effect, and ‘Level’ the amount of it you hear (the original guitar signal is always present).Distortion:The Reverb-X really comes into its own in how it can deal with the reverb. It’s based on the excitement of plugging an overdrive pedal after a reverb pedal; it’s ‘wrong’, but everything you play sounds huge and epic, exaggerated and full of texture and detail… Here, an overdrive circuit – after the reverb – can be blended in via the ‘Distn’ knob. Have it totally clean, a bit gritty, quite rough, or dial in a fully burnt-out glow.At all times, however, the input signal is unaffected; if you already use an overdrive pedal, the Reverb-X can add a whole new dimension of distortion to your sound! If your tone is clean however, it stays clean – no matter how much distorted reverb you dial in.Usually though, in this situation when you stop playing, the hum from your cable alone would be as loud as the notes you were playing! So you have to have a noise gate involved…Noise Gate:This is always on, either before the reverb and distortion circuits, unobtrusively silencing hums and buzzes when you’re not playing. Switch in the ‘Gate’ button though, and this changes to post reverb and distortion. It opens when you play, and closes hard when you stop, totally cutting off any reverb that’s happening – giving an incredibly dramatic and original effect. Sure, it’s a gated reverb, but play a long riff and gate stays open, giving the full reverberation as set by the ‘Size’ knob. Stop playing and the whole thing is shut down, giving a tight control over it – like a hard-edited ‘sample’.The ‘input’ control and ‘Overload’ LED insure that the output is always as loud – and clean (if desired) – as possible. The ‘Out’ knob has plenty of spare output volume on tap.Igor:Plug in the Igor expression pad and you get no reverb at all. However as you start to lean on it the signal gets diverted to the waiting reverb pathway, and a bloom of reverberation grows behind whatever notes you’re playing. Take your foot off of Igor and you go back to fully dry – but the reverb decays on its own.Or have the ‘Gate’ switch in, and the added reverb is cut short, like some twisted dub-meister at the controls, messing with everyone’s depth perception….
