The New Sound City SC30 Combo is a further development of the original Sound City One Hundred amplifier designed by Dave Reeves, from which the new Sound City Master One Hundred and Master Lead 50 amplifiers were developed.

The SC30 draws closely on the bold sonic foundation of its bigger brothers, delivering clarity, punch and sweetness that is unusual for its size and performance.

The combination of the expressive Gold Lion KT66 "Kinkless Tetrodes" with the classic Reeves-inspired phase inverter design in a cathode-preloaded configuration produces a remarkably rich harmonic balance and sonic detail from single coils and humbuckers alike. The 12AT7-based differential pair phase inverter based on the 12AT7 generates sufficient voltage for a smooth and effortless transition to saturation of thick power amplifiers.

The 5AR4 tube-rectified power supply provides responsive power restoration with natural and subtle compression that produces expressive gong and sustain without excessive sag.

To top it all off, we use a genuine Partridge-inspired, paper-insulated output transformer to deliver the sonic payload to a custom-made and carefully engineered reproduction of the original Sound City Power Speaker, right down to the original label design.
