In homage to Apollo VII, NASA's first three-person space mission, there are three controls: level, gain and sound. Each of these controls has been optimized to provide a wide variety of sounds with gain up to 40 dB.
The toggle switch also offers three options: LED clipping, silicon diode clipping and no diodes. LED clipping provides a focused midrange - that's the sound of the Voyager I. Silicon diode clipping provides a more compressed and aggressive sound with a smoother decay. Without clipping diodes in the circuitry, the Apollo VII becomes much more velocity-sensitive and growls and barks with an amazingly dynamic nature.
The Spaceman Apollo VII is also convincing on the inside: first-class, selected components, a hand-soldered circuit board and a super meticulous finish.
All Spaceman pedals are hand-soldered in Portland Oregon in the highest possible quality and come in a silver bag that resembles the material of a space suit.
