Weehbo Plexface - Vintage Dual Overdrive

The PLEXFACE contains four of the most important sound eras of music history in one box, available with two separate channels PLEXI and BLACKFACE.

The BLACKFACE channel is a detailed replica of a very famous American amplifier of the 60's and consists of cascaded field effect transistor stages instead of vacuum tubes. The VOLUME control determines the volume of the BLACKFACE channel, but also controls the overall gain and compression. With higher control settings, the typical sound coloration and saturation is added, just as you know and love it from the original amplifier. Furthermore you can choose between two basic sounds: BLACKFACE ('65) or TWEED ('57), the TWEED mode delivers a bit more gain, but also more fullness and warmth.

The PLEXI channel is based on the legendary 1959 Plexi model with 100W power, which was made famous by numerous bands, especially in the 60's and 70's. You can choose between a JTM ('59) or JMP ('87) basic sound, again the JMP mode provides a little more distortion, fullness and warmth.

Both channels can be activated independently. If both channels are active at the same time, the signal sequence is PLEXI - BLACKFACE.

Control options:

• BASS - controls the bass (BLACKFACE)

• TREBLE - controls the treble (BLACKFACE)

• VOLUME - determines the volume and distortion (BLACKFACE)

• DRIVE - determines the degree of distortion (PLEXI)

• TONE - simple height control panel (PLEXI)

• LEVEL - determines the overall volume (PLEXI)

• SHAPE - amplified low mid and bass (PU - pushed) or normal frequency response (FL - flat)

• SWITCH - '59/'87 select between JTM ('59) or JMP ('87) basic sound in PLEXI channel: '65/'57 choose between BLACKFACE ('65) or TWEED ('57) basic sound in BLACKFACE channel

• DYNAMIC - internal operating voltage: 9V (left), 18V (right)

• PLEXI - activates the PLEXI channel

• BLACKFACE - activates the BLACKFACE CHANNEL

Inside the unit there are trimmers and jumpers for fine tuning your PLEXFACE. Remove the base plate with a screwdriver and follow the instructions on the back.
